RESOLUTION N0. 85- 34 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZ ING THE MAYOR <br />TO TRANSFER THE ANTIQUE HEARSE TO <br />THE MAYFIELD TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL <br />SOCIETY UNDER CERTAIN TERMS AND <br />CONDITIONS AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village currently owns an antique hearse <br />and has had the same in its possession for many years; and <br />WHEREAS, it has become increasingly difficult for the muni- <br />cipality to provide adequate care and storage for the antique hearse; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayfield Township Historical Society has agreed <br />to accept the antique hearse under the condition that the hearse will <br />revert to the Village should the Historical Society determine to <br />dispose of it; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council have determined that it is in <br />the best interest of the Village that the care of this treasured <br />antique be relinquished to the Mayfield Township Historical Society <br />under the terms and conditions set forth hereinabove; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to <br />transfer ,possession of the Village antique hearse to the Mayfield <br />Township Historical Society under the condition that should the <br />Mayfield Township Historical Society decide to dispose of the hearse <br />in any manner it shall immediately revert to the possession of <br />Mayfield Village. <br />Section 2. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compli- <br />ance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of <br />Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />for the reasons set forth in the preamble hereto. It shall therefore <br />take effect immediately upon passage by the affirmative vote of not <br />less than four (4) members elected to Council and approval by the <br />
