RESOLUTION N0. 84- 8 <br />INTRODUCED BYa Mayor Carmen & Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION URGING THE PASSAGE OF THE 5-YEAR <br />ONE MILL LEVY REPLACEMENT FOR THE CUYAHOGA <br />COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY. <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio <br />recognize the unique and vital services that the Cuyahoga County <br />Public Library provides to residents of all ages living in Mayfield <br />Village and the County, in general; and <br />WHEREAS, the current one mill levy that voters approved in <br />1974 and renewed in 1979 will expire at the end of 1984; and <br />WHEREAS, the Library Board of Trustees has determined the <br />need to place a one mill levy bef ore the voters on May 8th for five <br />years at current valuation to offset rising operating costs and to <br />continue providing the high level of services that the residents of <br />Cuyahoga County have become accustomed too now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUIVCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, <br />Ohio, urge the passage of the Cuyahoga County Public Library 5-year <br />one mill levy and do hereby urge all residents of Mayfield Village to <br />vote for the issue in order that the informational, educational, pro- <br />fessional and recreational needs of the community will be met and in <br />order to insure that consistent and quality library service will <br />continue in this area. <br />Section 2. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village <br />hereby authorize and direct that the Clerk of Council forward a copy <br />of this Resolution to the Cuyahoga County Public Library Levy Replace- <br />ment Committee. <br />Section 3. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; ana that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compli- <br />ance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of <br />Section 121a22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 4,s This Resolution shall take effect at the <br />earliest time allowed by lawm <br />Richard C.
