Carmen <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZ ING THE MAYOR <br />AND DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO ENTER <br />INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE VILLAGE <br />OF GATES MILLS FOR THE INTERCHANGE <br />OF POLICE AND FIRE PROTECTION <br />SERV ICES AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 734.04 of the Ohio Revised Code <br />municipal corporations may contract with each other for the inter- <br />change of police services or equipment; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 9060 of the Ohio Revised Code <br />municipal corporations may contract with each other for the inter- <br />change of fire protection services, including, but not limited to, <br />ambulance and emergency medical service; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village have <br />determined that it is in the best interests of the residents of the <br />municipality to execute an agreement with the Village of Gates Mills <br />for the interchange of police and fire protection services as more <br />fully hereinafter set forth; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village have <br />further determined that the aforeanentioned agreement to interchange <br />police and fire protection services should be executed on a trial <br />basis for a period of six (6) months, as is also more fully herein- <br />after set forth; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLV ED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD V ILLAGE, OH IO, THAT s <br />Section 1., The Mayor and Director of Finance of Mayfield <br />Village are hereby authorized and directed to execute the agreement <br />attached hereto and incorporated herein as if fully rewritten, which <br />agreement provides for the interchange of police and fire protection <br />services as specified therein. The attached agreement shall remain in <br />full force and effect for a period of six (6) months from and after <br />the date on which the jail facility of the Village of Gates Mills is <br />certified by the,State of Ohio, Department of Rehabilitation and <br />Correction. <br />Section 2, All prior ordinances inconsistent with this <br />ordinance in whole or in part are repealed to the extent necessary to <br />avoid conflict with this ordinance. <br />Section 3. That the Council finds and determines that all
