RESOLUTION N0. 84-31 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen & Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING MORTON SALT C0. AND <br />INTERNATIONAL SALT C0. AS THE LOWEST AND BEST <br />BIDDERS FOR THE SALE OF ROAD SALT TO THE MUNICIPALITY <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCYe <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. In accordance with bids received pursuant to <br />advertisement as required by law, Morton Salt and International Salt <br />Co. are declared to be the lowest anc7 best bidders for the sale of <br />road salt to Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the 1984-1985 Winter season. <br />Section 2. The Mayor and Director of Finance are hereby <br />authorized and directed to enter into a contract with both the <br />aforesaid purveyors for the sale of road salt to the municipality on <br />an as needed basis in amounts not to exceed the following: <br />Morton Salt Co.: $17.54 per ton dumped <br />$19.04 per ton piled <br />International Salt Co.: $17.00 per ton dumped <br />$18.50 per ton piled <br />Section 3. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compli- <br />-ance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of <br />Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 4 This Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />for the reason that the item purchased herein is necessary to maintain <br />road safety within the municipality for the impending Winter season. <br />It shall therefore take eifect immediately upon passage by the <br />affirmative vote of not less than four (4) members elected to Council <br />and approval by the Mayor or otherwise?rEhe earliest 'r?e allowed by <br />law. % <br />First Reading: <br />Ric}ard C.
