RESOLUTION NO. 83-25 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING MORTON <br />SALT CO. AND INTERNATIONAL SALT CO. <br />AS THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDERS FOR <br />THE SALE OF ROAD SALT TO THE <br />MUNICIPALITY AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1 In accordance with bids received pursuant to <br />advertisement as required by law, Morton Salt Co. and International <br />Salt Co. are declared to be the lowest and best bidders for the sale <br />of road salt to Mayfield Village, Ohio for the 1983-1984 Winter season, <br />Section 2 The Mayor and Finance Director are hereby <br />authorized and directed to enter into a contract with both the afore- <br />said purveyors for the sale of road salt to the municipality on an as <br />needed basis in amounts not to exceed the bid price received from each <br />purveyor. Such contract shall be in a Corm approved by the Director <br />of Law. <br />Section 3. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements, including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 4. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />for the reason that the item purchased herein is necessary to maintain <br />road safety within the municipality.
