DAVIS <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORYZING THE RENEWAL OF A 1.6 MILL <br />LEVY FOR FIVE YEARS FOR PAYMENT OF SALARIES OF <br />PERMANENT POLICE PERSONNEL FOR THE TAX DUPLICATE <br />YEARS 1972 TO 1976, BOTH INCLUSIVE <br />? <br />WHEREAS, Section 5705.19 of the Ohio Revised Code affords relief <br />by enabling taxing districts to submit a proposal for an additional levy of <br />- taxes for payment of salaries of permanent police personnel to the electors <br />at the succeeding November election. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLt1ED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD, <br />CUYA.HOGA COUNTY, OHIO, TWO-THIRDS OF ALL MEMBERS ELECTED THERETO CONCURRING, <br />THAT: <br />? <br />- Section 1. The amount of taxes which may be raised by the levy of <br />taxes within the ten (10) mill limitation authorized by Section 5705.02 of <br />the Ohio Revised Code will be insufficient to provide an adequate amount for <br />the payment of salaries of permanent police personnel, and it fs necessary for <br />the purpose of providing additional funds for payment of salaries of permanent <br />police personnel that taxes be levied on the taxable property in said village <br />for a period of 5 years at a rate in excess of such maximum return authorfzed <br />by said Section 5705.02 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 2. The question of the renewal of a 1.6 mill levy on each <br />dollar of the tax valuation of the taxable property on the tax duplicate <br />within the Village of Mayfield, Ohio, which amounts to 16C on each $100.00 <br />of valuation of said property, for a period of five years, beginning with the <br />tax duplicate year 1972, for paymerat of dalaxies of permanent police personnel <br />for the Village of Mayfield under the provisions of Section 5705.19 of the <br />Ohio Revised Code, be submitted to the electors of the Village of Mayfield at <br />at the general election to be held on the 7th day of November, 1972, as <br />authorized by law, and said election shall be held at the regular places of <br />voting in said district, as established by the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga <br />County, Ohio, between the hours of 6:30 o'clock A. M. and 6:30 o'clock P. M., <br />Eastern Standard Time, and that said election shall be conducted, canvassed, <br />-, and certified in the manner provided by law. <br />! ? . <br />Section 3.
