RESOLUTION NO. 835 <br />Introduced by: Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE COUNTY AUDIT.OR TO <br />NOTIFY THE VILLAGE OF 14AYFIELD OF PENDING TAX <br />REDUCTION N.iATTERS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the laws of the State of Ohio provide that the <br />County Board of Revision need not notify local municipalities or school <br />boards of pending tax reductions unless the request exceeds $100,000, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Board of Revision has adopted a <br />procedure of hearing requests for tax reductions upon a review of the <br />case without notification to local municipalities and school boards, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, in many instances tax reductions involving substan- <br />tial sums of money have been granted with no notification to the Village <br />of Mayfield until the action has been finalized, and <br />WHEREAS, the accumulation of tax reductions is greatly im- <br />pairing the tax basis of the Village without an opportunity to be <br />represented at the hearings. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE <br />OF NIIIYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO, THAT: ' <br />Sec. l. The Mayor and Council of the Village of Mayfield do <br />hereby request George V. Voinovich, Secretary of the Cuyahoga County <br />Board of Revision, hereaf ter notify the officials of the Village of <br />Mayfield of ta:c reduction requests filed by commercial, industrial and <br />apartment house ovaners of the Village of Mayfield in sufficient time to <br />permit the Village to review the reauest and present any pertinent facts <br />concerning the requested reductions. <br />Sec. 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed <br />to certify copies of this Resol.ution to George V. Voinovich, Secretary, <br />Frank M. Brennan, Member and Hugh A. Corrigan, Chairman, Cuyahoga County <br />Board of Revision, 304 County Administration Building, Ontario and <br />Lakeside Avenues, Cleveland, Ohioo <br />Sec. 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure immediately necessary for the Preservation of the public peace, <br />health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the Village of Mayfield, <br />by reason of the necessity to request the Cuyahoga County Board of <br />Revision to notify the Village ot Mayfield of pending tax reduction <br />requests which presently can be granted without notification to the
