Resolution No. 892 <br />Introduced by: Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING "WOMEN'S HEALTH WEEK" IN <br />MAYFIELD VTLLAGE <br />WHEREAS, it has been estimated that 33,000 women will lose their lives in <br />1975 due to breast and uterine cancer; and <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined that early detection and treatment can mean the <br />saving of many women's lives; and <br />WHEREAS, it has been shown that increased knowledge of the signs of cancer can <br />encourage women to watch their own health more effectively; and <br />WHEREAS, a program to educate women in these special areas of concern has <br />been arranged by the educational staff of the American Cancer Society; and <br />WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga Unit of the American Cancer Society, the Parent-Teachers <br />Associations, Hillcrest Hospital, Hillcrest YWCA, the Mayfield Regional Library, <br />Churches, and Women's Organizations are joining together to present a series of such <br />programs. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO: <br />Section 1. That Council hereby proclaims the week of May 12 through May 21 <br />1975 as Women's Health Week in Mayfield Village. <br />Section 2.
