Resolution No. 9 48 <br />Introduced by: Mr. Busa <br />A RESOLUTION DETERMINIPdG THAT THE BID OF A& J <br />CEMENT CONTRACTORS, INC. IS THE LOWEST AND BEST <br />BID FOR THE REMOVAL OF PORTIONS OF THE EXISTING <br />PAVEMENT OF THORNAPPLE DRIVE, OAKWOOD DRIVE AND <br />KENWOOD DRIVE AND FOR RESURFACING BY THE INSTAL- <br />LATION OF SEVEN INCH REINFORCED CONCRETE PAVEMENT, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. It is hereby determined that the bid of A& J Cement Contractors, <br />Inc. for the removal of portions of the existing pavement of Thornapple Drive, Oakwood <br />Drive and Kenwood Drive and for Resurfacing by the installation of seven-inch rein- <br />forced concrete pavement, is the lowest and best bid received after advertising in <br />accordance with the Charter. <br />Section 2. The Mayor and Finance Director be and they are hereby authorized and <br />directed to enter into a contract with A& J Cement Contractors Inc. in accordance <br />with the plans and specifications upon which such bid was received. <br />Section 3. Council declares this to be an emergency resolution necessary for <br />the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, such emergency arising out <br />of the necessity to correct pavement problems and facilitate access by service vehicles <br />without undue delay, in order to correct a situation now deemed undesirable; wherefore, <br />this resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and approval <br />by the Mayore If 1-1 1/ <br />Passed: July 19 , 1976 <br />Attest: <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL <br />,?Ap oved: Yjr9 Z 76 <br />?
