RESOLUTION N0. $$=40 <br />INTRODUCED BY: MAyOR CARPIEN AND COUNCIL AS A WHOLE. <br />A RESOLUTION <br />AWARDING A CONTRACT TO <br />MORTOAI TffiOKOL, INC. FOR THE SALS TO TH6 <br />:CIPALITY OF ROAD SALT ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS <br />AND DECLARIIdG AN EPffiZGSNCY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor and the Council President are hereby authorized and <br />directed to enter into an agreement with Morton Thiokol, Inc. for the purchase <br />of road salt, on an as needed basis, in an amount not to exceed Twenty-Three <br />Dollars and Fi£teen Centers ($23.15) per ton dumped. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of <br />this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at <br />open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of <br />its cownittees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open <br />to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3: This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the health, safety and welfare of <br />the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the reason that it is necessary <br />to enter into the aforesaid agreement in order to insure the availability of <br />xoad salt for the winter season.
