Amended (11/21/88) <br />RESOLUTION N0. 88- 55 <br />INTRODUCED BY: MAyOR CARMEN AND THE EPITIRE COUNCIL. <br />A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING THE ffiCPENIDITURE OF <br />Zwo Taovsnrm arvE aMxED noIInxs ($z,soo.oo) <br />Tp THS MAYFIffi,D TOWNSHIP ffiSTORICAL SOCISTY FOR <br />THS RESTORATION OF THE HISTORICAL BUILDING <br />AND DBCLARING AN ffi1ffitGSNCY <br />WHLREAS, the Mayfield Township Historical Society is a corporation, not <br />£or profit, organized and existing under the laws of the State of Ohio; and <br />WHSREAS, Section 149.30 of the Ohio Revised Code provides, in part, that <br />the Ohio General Assembly may appropriate money to the Ohio Historical Society <br />to carry out its public functions as enumerated in Chapter 149 of the Ohio <br />Revised Code; and <br />WH1UEAS, Section 307.23 of the Ohio Revised Code provides, in part, that <br />Boards of County Commissioners may appropriate money to historical societies <br />within their counties for promotion of historical work; and <br />WHERL+AS, the Mayfield Township Historical Society has moved a histor- <br />ical building to a certain parcel of land owned by the municipality on S.O.M. <br />Center Road north of Wilson Mills Road; and <br />WHRRLAS, the Mayfield Township Historical Society has requested that <br />Mayfield Village allocate the sum of Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars <br />($2,500.00) toward the restoration o£ the said historical building; and <br />WHSREAS, the Mayor and Council will insist that the Mayfield Township <br />Historical Society provide statements as to its financial condition in <br />determining future appropriations toward the restoration of the said <br />historical building; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village have determined <br />that this effort by the Mayfield Township Historical Society will promote <br />the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village for the <br />reason that it preserves and promotes the history and tradition of old <br />Mayfield Township; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, hereby authorizes the <br />expenditure of 7bro Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00) to the Mayfield <br />Township Historical Society for the purpose of restoring the historical <br />building referred to hereinabove.
