07/14/89 <br />RESOLUTION N0. 89-41 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Covncil as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF AN <br />INFORMAL BID FROM SAFETY FIRST SUPPLY FOR <br />THE PURCAASE OF FIREFIGHTING TURN-OUT GEAR <br />WHEREAS, said firefighting turn-out gear must meet the National Fire <br />Protection Standard as well as the Ohio Administrative Code; and <br />WHEREAS, said firefighting turn-out gear is only available from a limited <br />number o£ manufacturers that comply with such standards; and <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village, Ohio, has received an informal bid £rom Safety <br />First Supply to provide such gear in the amount of Eight Thousand Five Hundred <br />Four pollars and Two Cents ($8,504.02); and <br />WHEREAS, Mayfield Village, Ohio, has an immediate need for the purchase <br />of the firefighting turn-out gear; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The Mayor and President of Council is hereby authorized to <br />enter into an agreement with Safety First Supply for the purchase of fourteen <br />(14) sets of firefighting turn-out gear in the amount of Eight Thousand Five <br />Hundred Four pollars and 7tao Cents ($8,504.02), in accordance with the in£or- <br />mal bid submitted by said Company, and without advertising further for compet- <br />itive bids. The Council finds and determines that said gear is of an emergen- <br />cy nature requiring immediate purchase of such gear from said Company. <br />SECTION 3. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of <br />this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at <br />open meetings o£ this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of <br />its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open <br />to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the <br />requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 4. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary £or the preservation of the health, safety and welfare <br />of the residents of Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the reason set forth in the <br />preamble hereto. It shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon the <br />passage by the a£firmative vote o£ not less than five (5) members elected to
