ORDINANCE N0. 87-3 (AS AMENDED) 1/19/87 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE POSITION OF <br />ASSISTANT TO THE BUILDING COMMISSIONER/SERVICE <br />DIRECTOR, ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION THEREFOR, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, there has been a substantial increase in the <br />construction of buildings in Mayfield Village within the past several <br />months; and <br />WHEREAS, the increased construction activity appears as if <br />it will continue; and <br />WHEREAS, the Building Commissioner/Service Director <br />currently has no assistants to aid him in the daily enforcement of the <br />Building Code and the Planning & Zoning Code of the Village; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council are desirous of providing the <br />Building Commissioner/Service Director with an assistant who is <br />qualified to aid him in his daily duties; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. There is hereby established the position of <br />Assistant to the Building Commissioner/Service Director of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio. <br />Section 2. The Assistant to the Building Commissioner/ <br />Service Director shall be appointed by the Mayor. <br />Section 3. The Assistant to the Building Commissioner/ <br />Service Director shall be compensated at the rate of Fifteen Dollars <br />($15.00) per hour, not to exceed eight (8) hours in any one day. The <br />Assistant to the Building Commissioner/Service Director shall be a <br />part-time position and such person shall not be eligible for any <br />benefits accorded other employees of Mayfield Village unless and until <br />the same are approved by the Council. <br />Section 4. The Assistant to the Building Commissioner/ <br />Service Director shall perform the duties assigned him from <br />time-to-time by the Building Commissioner/Service Director. <br />Section 5. The Assistant to the Building Commissioner/ <br />Service Director shall serve in that position until either he or the <br />Mayor determine that the contractual relationship created herein <br />should be terminated and so notify the other, in writing, at least <br />thirty (30) days prior to the effective termination date.
