Goley <br />and David Petschauer <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 123.02 OF THE <br />CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF MP,YFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, <br />PERTP,INING TO CONTRACTS AND THE ADV ERTISEMENT FOR <br />BIDS, REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT <br />HEREWITH AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MP,YFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Section 123.02 of the Codified Ordinances of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />(Deleted material appears like *-h4:s and new material appears <br />like THIS) <br />Ghapter 123 <br />Ordinances and Contracts <br />* * ? <br />-?, <br />123.02 Contracts; Advertising for Bids; Award. <br />The advertising for bids involving the expenditure of <br />more than Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) shall be made <br />by EITHER motion of Council directing the F+rr?nc-e--Hr-r-ectar CLERK <br />OF COUNCIL to advertise for not less than once during each of two <br />(2) consecutive weeks in a newspaper of general circulation in <br />the municipality. THE MAYOR SHALL ALSO HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO <br />PLACE AN ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS AS REQUIRED HEREIN. The award of <br />a contract accepting such bid shall be by Resolution of Council <br />and shall direct the Mayor and-F-}-tftee--F34-Eeet-&r PRESIDENT OF <br />COUNCIL to enter into an appropriate contract. <br />No purchase of goods and services in an amount equal to or <br />greater than Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00) shall <br />be made without first obtaining at least two (2) written <br />quotations from reputable suppliers submitted to Council. <br />Authority to make such purchases shall be made by motion <br />approved by a majority of the members elected to Council. <br />For the purchase of goods or services in amounts less than <br />Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00) the Mayor shall <br />have authority to make the purchase without prior authorization <br />from Council so long as the availability of appropriated funds <br />for such purchase is certified by the Finance Director. In <br />addition, the Mayor shall have the further authority to purchase, <br />without prior authorization of Council, goods or services in <br />amounts less than Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($2,500.00) <br />even though such amount is unappropriated.
