RESOLUTION NO. 87- 40 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen & Council <br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE NORTHERN OHIO DRUG <br />ABUSE AWARENESS AND PREVENTION TASK FORCE. <br />WHEREAS, we are all aware of the great need to combat the <br />abusive drugs in this country; and <br />WHEREAS, those programs that are available are so over- <br />burdened and underfunded that many people, desperate for help, can <br />find none; and <br />WHEREAS, the drug abuse problem is so pervasive, touching <br />lives in all of our communities; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, <br />Ohio, urge municipalities in Northern Ohio to emulate the actions of <br />the Cities of Strongsville and Parma in establishing a local drug <br />program to complement the activities and goals of the Northern Ohio <br />Drug Abuse Awareness and Prevention Task Force. <br />Section 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and <br />directed to forward duplicate copies of this Resolution to the Clerks <br />of Council for all municipalities in the Cuyahoga County Mayors and <br />City Managers Association. <br />Section 3. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 4.
