RESOLUTION NO. 87- 40 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen & Council A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE NORTHERN OHIO DRUG ABUSE AWARENESS AND PREVENTION TASK FORCE. WHEREAS, we are all aware of the great need to combat the abusive drugs in this country; and WHEREAS, those programs that are available are so over- burdened and underfunded that many people, desperate for help, can find none; and WHEREAS, the drug abuse problem is so pervasive, touching lives in all of our communities; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: Section 1. The Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, urge municipalities in Northern Ohio to emulate the actions of the Cities of Strongsville and Parma in establishing a local drug program to complement the activities and goals of the Northern Ohio Drug Abuse Awareness and Prevention Task Force. Section 2. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to forward duplicate copies of this Resolution to the Clerks of Council for all municipalities in the Cuyahoga County Mayors and City Managers Association. Section 3. That the Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code.
