RESOLUTION N0. 87- 76 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Fred N. Carmen <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CHIEF <br />OF POLICE AND DIRECTOR OF LAW TO EXECUTE THE <br />CUYAHOGA COUNTY PLAN OF COOPERATION REGARDING <br />CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Mayfield Village, Ohio, <br />have previously adopted legislation authorizing the Mayor to execute <br />the Cuyahoga County Plan of Cooperation Regarding Child Abuse and <br />Neglect; and <br />WHEREAS, since the aforementioned Plan was executed the Ohio <br />General Assembly enacted legislation revising Section 2151.421 of the <br />Ohio Revised Code mandating that Peace Officers and Directors of Law <br />also execute such plans; and <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council are desirous of maintaining <br />participation in the aforementioned Plan; now, therfore, <br />BE IT RESOLV ED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD V ILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1 The Chief of Police and Director of Law are <br />hereby authorized and directed to execute the Cuyahoga County Plan of <br />Cooperation Regarding Child Abuse and Neglect, a copy of which is <br />attached hereto and marked Exhibit "A". <br />Section 2. That the Council finds and determines that all <br />formal actions of this Council relating to the adoption of this <br />Resolution have been taken at open meetings of this Council; and that <br />deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in <br />compliance with all statutory requirements including the requirements <br />of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />Section 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the <br />health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield Village for <br />the reason that the action taken herein is necessary to maintain <br />effective cooperation with the County regarding child abuse and <br />neglect.
