RESOLUTION N0. 78-2 <br />BY: Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />AND DTRECTOR OF FINANCE TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT <br />WITH THE CUYAHOGA COUNTY COMMISSIONERS RELATIVE <br />TO THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT HIGHLAND ROAD AND S.O.M. <br />CENTER ROAD. <br />WHEREAS, this Council has previously approved an ordinance <br />for the installat3on of a traffic light at Highland Road and S.O.M. <br />Center Road; and <br />WHEREAS, the signal so-required conforms with the specifica- <br />tions of the Cuyahoga County Engineer and the Board of County Commis- <br />sioners with regard to use of the County motor vehicle $5.00 license <br />tax fund; and <br />WHEREAS, the Village wishes to obtain reimbursement from such <br />fund for the installation of the traffic signal; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Mayor and Director of Finance are authorized <br />to enter into an agreement with the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Cuyahoga County for the installation of a traffic signal, controller <br />and appurtenances at the intersection of Highland Road and S.O.M. Center <br />Road in substantially the form attached hereto and made a part hereof <br />as Exhibit "A". <br />Section 2. This is an emerqency resolution immediately <br />necessary for the preservation of the peace, safety and welfare of <br />the residents of Mayfield Village in that it provides for necessary <br />traffic controls and a reduction in expense that the Villaqe would <br />otherwise incur. It shall therefore take effect immediately upon <br />passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) members <br />elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the <br />earliest time allowed by law. <br />PASSED: January 16, 1978 P'esident of Council <br />ATTSzST : <br />APPROVED; <br />DATE: January 16, 1978
