ORDINANCE N0. 88-36 <br />INTRODUCED BY: MAYOR CARMEN AND .COUNCIL AS A WHOLE. <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />ATO~IDING SECTION 141.07 OF THE <br />CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, <br />PERTAIAiING TO TI~iATtdTNG OF FIREFIGHTERS, <br />REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH <br />AND DECLARING AN EI~GENCY <br />BE IT ORDAINID) BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. Existing Section 141.07 of the Codified Ordinances of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio, is amended to read as follows: (Deleted material <br />appears like this and new material appears like THIS.) <br />Chapter 141 <br />Fire Department <br />~Y 4< x <br />141.07 Contract <br />Contemporaneous with their original appointments to <br />the Fire Department of Mayfield Village, Ohio, all origi- <br />nal appointees or PART-TIME hirees from and after the <br />effective date of this Section shall execute an agreement, <br />as approved by the Director of Law, with the municipality <br />such that in the event the appointee or hiree voluntarily <br />terminates his employment with the municipality within <br />one (1) year following the date of his appointment such . <br />appointee or hiree shall reimburse the municipality for <br />all sums paid to provide the appointee or hiree with <br />the instruction and training required by the Ohio Revised <br />Code to attain the status of firefighter. In the event <br />the appointee or hiree fails to reimburse the municipality <br />as required herein, the Director of Law is hereby autho- <br />rized to commence a civil action in a court of competent <br />jurisdiction to collect any sums due the municipality. <br />The agreement to be executed by and between the munici- <br />pality and the appointees or hirees as required in this <br />Section shall not abrogate any rights accorded such <br />appointees or hirees by the Rules and Regulations of <br />the Civil Service Commission of Mayfield Village, Ohio. <br />
