N0. 78-63 <br />TNTRODUCED BY: Mrs. Hanus <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING CIiAPTER 7.#^7 <br />OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Chapter 747 of the Codified Ordinances <br />of the Village of Mayfield shall be amended in title to read <br />"Transportation and Storage of Radioactive Materials." <br />Section 2. Section 747.05 shall be renumbered as <br />Section 747.06, and a new Section 747.05 shall be enacted to <br />read as follows: <br />747.05 STORAGE PROHIBITED <br />No person, firm, corporation or governmental agency, <br />whether local, state or federal, shall be permitted to <br />store on, above or below ground any of the radioactive <br />materials designated in Section 747.02.(A). <br />Section 3. This Ordinance is declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the <br />public peace, safety, health and welfare for the reason that <br />certain governmental agencies have expressed interest in the <br />storage of radioactive materials in the Northeastern Ohio area, <br />and it is therefore necessary to take immediate steps to protect <br />the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield <br />Villaqe; therefore, this Ordinance shall take effect immediately <br />upon passage by the affirmative vote of not less than five (5) <br />members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor, or otherwise <br />at the earliest time allowed by law. <br />?//?President of Council <br />PASSED: Decem 18 1978 <br />APPROVED: <br />ob t G.
