ORDINANCE NO. 79-16 <br />40 INTRODUCED BY: Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE TO ENTER INTO MUTUAL AID <br />POLICE PROTECTION AGREEMENTS WITH THE CITIES <br />OF LYNDHURST, HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, RICHMOND <br />HEIGHTS, WILLOUGHBY HILLS AND THE VILLAGE OF <br />GATES MILLS. <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 737.04 of the Ohio Revised <br />Code, a Village, in order to obtain additional police protection <br />in times of emergency, may enter into a contract, for a period not <br />to exceed three (3) years, with other political subdivisions upon <br />such terms as may be mutually agreed upon; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to enter into <br />a contract for the mutual interchange of police personnel and <br />equipment with the political subdivisions hereinafter mentioned; <br />now, therefore <br />BE IT ORDATNED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and <br />directed to execute a Mutual Aid Police Protection contract, in a <br />form approved by the Law Director, with the Cities of Lyndhurst, <br />? Highland Heights, Richmond Heights, Willoughby Hills and the Village <br />of Gates Mills. <br />N Section 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure, necessary for the immediate preservation of the <br />-? public peace, health and safety of the residents of Mayfield Village <br />in that it provides for adequate police protection in times of <br />emergency. It shall therefore become effective immediately upon <br />passage by the affirmative vote of not less tfian five (5) members <br />elected to Council and approval by the Mayor or otherwise at the <br />earlsest tsme allowed by law. <br /> <br />. -.? <br />PASSEp: <br />APPROVEI <br />APPEZOVED AS 77?
