ORDINANCE N0. 74- 3 <br />Introduced, by: Prager <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING SALARY PAYMEPdTS TO VILLAGE <br />EMPLOYEES WHILE SERVING ON JURY DUTY OR IN THE ACTIVE <br />RESERVE OF THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, <br />OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Clerk-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed <br />to pay all full time employees of the Village at their regular rate of compensation <br />while serving on jury duty, less any payment received by such employee as compen- <br />sation for jury duty. <br />Section 2. The Clerk-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and directed <br />to pay all full time employees of the Village at their regular rate of compensation <br />for service in the active reserve of the United States Armed Forces, subject, however, <br />that employees serving in this category shall be paid for a period not to exceed two <br />calendar weeks per calendar year. <br />Section 3. The Clerk-Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized to establish <br />the procedure for determining the amount of compensation received by an employee for <br />jury duty or as a member of the Active Reserve of the United States Armed Forces. <br />The Clerk-Treasurer may require appropriate affidavits or other documents so that <br />he will be assured that there has been full compliance with the spirit and intent <br />of this Ordinance. <br />Section 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and <br />welfare of the Village of Mayfield and its inhabitants, so that employees serving <br />as a member of a jury or as a member of the active reserve of the United Statas <br />Armed Forces may be appropriately compensated for such public service and shall <br />take effect from and after the date of its passage. <br />Passed this 21st day of .Tanuary, 1974. <br />ATTEST: <br />i??? <br />AL) CLERK-TREASURER <br />Ll <br />
