ORDINeLVCE N0. 74- 13 <br />Introduced by: BOZ'dOnaL'O <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING, ADOPTING, AND ENACTING THE <br />CODIFIED GENERAL OFFENSES CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF <br />MAYFIELD, OHIO, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT <br />THEREWITH AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the Village of Mayfield, Ohio, has had the matter <br />of codification and general revision of the General Offenses of the Criminal Code <br />before it for some time, and <br />WHEREAS, the Justinian Publishing Company has prepared and'.published such <br />codification, and <br />WHEREAS, the codification of the General Offenses together with the <br />matters to be repealed are before the Council. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Council of the Village of Mayfield, <br />State of Ohio, that: <br />Section 1. The General Offenses Code of the Village of Mayfield, Ohio, <br />as revised, codified, rearranged and consolidated into conponent codes, titles, <br />chapters and sections are hereby approved, adopted and enacted as the Codified <br />General Offenses Code of the Village of Mayfield, Ohio. <br />One book form copy of the codified General Offenses Code shall be cer- <br />tified as correct by the Mayor and the Clerk Treasurer, attached to this Ordinance <br />as a part hereof, and filed with the permanent ordinance records of the Village of <br />Mayfield, Ohio. <br />Section 2. The provisions of this Ordinance shall be in full force and <br />effect immediately upon its passage; otherwise, it shall take effect from and aEter <br />the earliest period allowed by law. All ordinances and resolutions or parts thereof <br />which are in conflict or inconsistent with any provision of the codified General <br />Offenses Code are hereby repealed as of the effective date of this Ordinance except <br />as follows: <br />The enactment of the codified General Offenses Code shall not be <br />construed to effect a right or liability accrued or incurred under <br />any legislative provision prior to the effective date of such <br />enactment or an action or proceeding for the enforcement of such <br />right or liability. Such enactment shall not be construed to <br />relieve any person from punishment for an act coffiitted in violation <br />of such legislative provision, nor to effect an endictment or pro- <br />secution therefor. For such purposes, any legislative provision <br />shall continue in full force notwithstanding its repeal for the <br />purpose of revision and codification.
