Approval of Establishmenc o£ Auxiliary Police Unit. Council <br />hereby approces the establishcient of an e1-,ixiliary Police Urit within the Police <br />Department of the VilZage of Mayfield, to work in times of war and other emerger.cy <br />and te train and prepare for such occasions, as part of the Civi1 DeEense Program <br />of said Village, and to exercise all of tne powers conierred by Sectior 737.161 of <br />the Onio Revised Code and any amendmeats tttereto, aiI under cne direccion of tne <br />Chief of Yolice under the control of the Mayor. <br />Section 2. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 930 entitled "An Ordinaace Apprcving <br />the Establishment and Revised Manual of Rules for the :luxiliary Police Unit and <br />Repealing Ordinance No. 747," is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 2. Number of Members, Appointment and Removal; not Entitled <br />to Certain Benetits. The determination of the total number of nembers <br />? of the Auxiliary Police Unit shall be determined jointly by the Chiei <br />? of Police and Civil Defense Director, subject to approval ot the Mayor <br />and Council. The Mayor shall, upon recommendation of the Chie` of <br />Police Unit, subject to approval by Council, appoint members of the <br />Aur.3liary Police Unit, and such members shall serve uatil recioved bq <br />the Mayor. The Chief of Police shall have eaclusive control of the <br />stationino and transferring of the AuxiZiary Police Officers, under <br />such general rules and regulations as the Mayor may prescribe. Eligibility far Workmen's Compensation as Civil Defense <br />Volunteers or Workers. Members o£ the Auxiliary Police Jnit, mho take the Loyalty <br />Oath as required'by Section 4123.037 of the Ohio Revised Code'a..d are registered <br />or enrolled in writing in accordance with Section 4123.036 thereaf, shell be <br />entitled to the benefits of Workmen's Compensation'as Civil Defense Volunteers or <br />Workers under Sections 4123.031 to 4123.037, both inclusive. <br />Section 4. Functions and Duties. Members of the Auxiliary Police Unit <br />shall'h9ve such functions and duties in times of war and emergency and in preparation <br />- and training for such occ3sions as are set forth in Chapter 595, entitled "Civil <br />? Defense" of the Ohio Revised Code, and also such functions and duties as are governed <br />by Section 737.161 of the Ohio Revised Code, or any amendments thereto.
