a ORDINANCE N0. 74-61 <br />Introduced by: Mr. SChtllte <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY <br />OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS FOR RECIPROCAL POLICE PROTECTION <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, an interchange of police protection with the other municipalities <br />is beneficial to the Village of Mayfield and is necessary for the safety of the <br />inhabitants of the Village; and <br />WHEREAS, the subject matter of this Ordinance constitutes an emergency in <br />that the same provides for the usual daily operation of a municipal department. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD, <br />STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. That the Village of Mayfield shall enter into an agreement with <br />the City of Willoughby Hills providing for the interchange of services of their <br />respective Departments of Police. Said agreements shall be substantially in the <br />form as Exhibit "A", attached hereto and made a part hereof. The Mayor and Clerk- <br />Treasurer are authorized to execute said agreementsywhich shall continue in full <br />force and effect for a period of three years after their execution by the parties, <br />subject to termination by either party upon thirty days' written notice to the Clei'.k <br />i of Council of the party upon whom such notice is served. <br />Section 2. That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the Village of Mayfield, and further <br />necessary in order to provide for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, <br />and provided it receives a two-thirds vote of all members of the Council elected <br />thereto, it shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage. <br />Passed: December 23, 1974. <br />Attest: <br />TREASURER <br />4w <br />
