Ordinance No. 75- 24 <br />Introduced by: Mr. Prager <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE N0. 309, BEING AN ORDINANCE TO <br />REGULATE TRAFFIC ON THE STREETS AND PUBLIC HIGHSdAYS OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE BY AMENDING SECTION 13(C) PERTAINING TO TRAFFIC CONTROL <br />SIGNALS INDICATING STEADY RED INDICATION, AND DELCARING AN EMERGENCY <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Section 13(C) of Ordinance No. 309, being an ordinance to regulate <br />traffic on the streets and public highways of Mayfield Village, is hereby amended to <br />read as follows: <br />"Section 13 - Traffic Control Signals <br />"Whenever traffic is controlled by traffic control signals exhibiting <br />different illuminated colored lights, or controlled with illuminated arrows, <br />the following colors only shall be used and the terms and lights shall <br />indicate and apply to operators of vehicles, street cars and trackless <br />trolleys, and pedestrians as follows: <br />"(C) followed by steady red indication: <br />(1) Vehicular traffic, street cars, and trackless trolleys facing a <br />steady red signal alone shall stop at a clearly marked stop line, <br />but if none, before entering the crosswalk on the near side of the <br />- intersection, or if none, then before entering the intersection and <br />shall remain standing until an indication to proceed is shown except <br />as provided in subparagraph (C)(2) of this section. <br />(2) Unless a sign is in place prohibiting a right turn as'provided pursuant <br />to order of this municipality, vehicular traffic, street cars and <br />trackless trolleys facing a steady red light may cautiously enter the <br />intersection to make a right turn after stopping as required by sub- <br />paragraph (C)(1) of this section. Such vehicular traffic, street car, <br />and trackless trolleys shall yield the right of way to pedestrians law- <br />fully within an adjacent crosswalk and to other traffic lawfully using <br />the intersection:' <br />Section 2. This ordinance is deemed to be an emergency measure necessary for the <br />immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safet and welfare in order to pro- <br />mote safety on the public highways of Mayfield Village shall be in full force and <br />effect from and after its date of passage. / <br />Passed: July 21, 1975 <br />???,...... <br />` <br />? <br />
