Ordinance No. 75-37 <br />Introduced by: Mayor Leech <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CIVIL SERVICE <br />COMMISSION TO EMPLOY LEGAL COUNSEL, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />YOR <br />WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission has requested authority to employ <br />legal counsel to advise the Commission in the conduct of any hearing before the <br />Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, the Law Director of the Village would be placed in a position of <br />conflict if required to advise the Civil Service Commission in matters relating <br />to the conducts of its hearings. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, <br />CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. The Civil Service Conimission be, and it is hexeby authorized, to <br />engage the services of an attorney at law to act as its legal counsel in any <br />hearings conducted by the Commission. <br />Section 2. The Commission shall not be authorized to expend more than <br />$500.00 for said legal services. <br />Section 3. This ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure, necessary <br />for the immediate preservation of the public health, peace, safety and welfare <br />of Mayfield Village because of the necessity of providing legal counsel for the <br />Civil Service Commission in the event it is necessary to conduct any hearings, and <br />therefore, shall be in full £orce and effect from andafter the date of its passage. <br />a3 <br />Passed: December:YB", 1975 <br />Attest: <br />, ?,?? ???--- <br />ERK OF COU^I IL <br />Approved: <br />
