O ~^~ <br />BY MR, COMELLA <br />F; <br />f~ <br />Q <br />!~1 <br />b <br />L! <br />U) <br />u <br />O_ <br />_~ <br />CC <br />0 <br />C] <br /> <br />A <br />~~ <br />~1 <br />U1 <br />Q <br />O_ <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 726, <br />THE REGIONAL BUILDING CODE, BY ADDING PARAGRAPH 1621.22 <br />1/2, PRESCRIBING CERTAIN ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR BATH- <br />ROOMS IN CLASS A AND CLASS B MULTIPLE DWELLINGS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD, COUNTY <br />OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance Number 726, known as the <br />Regional Building Code, is hereby amended by adding Section 1621,22 1/2, <br />reading. as follows: <br />"1621.22 1/2. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR BATHROOMS <br />IN CLASS A AND CLASS B MULTIPLE DWELLINGS. <br />"In all showers and 'over all bathtubs in Class A and <br />Class B multiple dwellings, there shall be installed an approved <br />waterproof-finish wall, not less than six feet above the floor, <br />consisting of a scratch-coat of portland cement plaster riot less <br />than five-eighths inch thick integrally waterproofed and applied <br />on metal lath. The metal lath shall be securely nailed to each <br />stud at six-inch intervals or less. When metal lath is not backed <br />with rock lath, the studs shall be covered with a water-resisting <br />covering equaling 15 pound asphalt saturated felt, applied shingle <br />style. After the scratch-coat has dried, a bedding-coat shall be <br />applied of portland cement or other waterproof adhesive materials, <br />approved by the building official. There shall also be installed <br />in all bathrooms and lavatories an approved concrete floor, con- <br />sisting of portland cement, not less than three-fourths inch <br />thickness, integrally waterproofed, and applied on metal lath with <br />a water-resisting underlayment equal to 15 pounds asphalt saturated <br />felt. The metal lath shall be securely nailed at six-inch intervals <br />or less." <br />Section 2.
