ORDINANCE N0. 1084 <br />gy; MR, Comella <br />AN ORDINANCE TO ADSEND PARAGRAPH 1581.03 OF ORDINANCE N0. <br />465, KNOWN AS THE REGIONAL DWELLING HOUSE CODE, WITH RE- <br />SPECT TO MASONRY VENEERS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD, COUNTY OF <br />CUYAHOGA, STATE OF OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Paragraph 1581..03 of Ordinance No. 465, known as the <br />Regional Dwelling House Code, is hereby amended to read as follocas: <br />"1581.03. Masonry Veneers. <br />"(a) Installation on Masonrv. Masonry veneers on masonry <br />backing shall be installed in.acco;dance with subsection 1541.15(d). <br />"(b) Installation over Wood dr Other Sheathing. Veneers <br />of unit masonry on wood framing shall be securely attached to the <br />wood frame with corrosion-resistive anchors at vertical intervals of <br />not more than 17" and horizontal intervals of not more than 32". When <br />other than wood board sheathing is used, metal ties shall be secured <br />to the studs. Sheathing surfaces back of masonry veneer shall be <br />covered with 30 pound asphalt saturated felt before approved finish <br />siding or brick is applied, except in solid brick construction." <br />"(c) Support. Masonry veneers shall rest directly upon <br />the masonry foundation or be carried by the masonry walls of the <br />structure and shall not be supported on wood construction. <br />Section 2. In all other respects, the said Ordinance No. 465 as <br />amended shall remain in full force and effect. <br />Section 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />Ordinance, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, <br />health, safety and welfare of the Village of Mayfield and its inhabitants, <br />in order to prevent building of houses not properly protected against the <br />elements, and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after <br />the date of its passage. <br />g~ <br /> <br />Passed' this 20th day of January , 196. <br />
