r o '~ <br />ORDINANCE N0. 1969-9 <br />BY: MR, Davis <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE N0, 930, ENTITLED <br />"AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ESTABLISHMENT AND REVISED MANUAL <br />OF RULES FOR THE AUXILIARY POLICE UNIT AND REPEALING ORDINANCE <br />No, 747." <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE,OF.MAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA <br />COUNTY, OHIO, THAT: <br />Section 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 930 entitled "An Ordinance <br />Approving the Establishment and Revised Manual of Rules for the Auxiliary Police <br />Unit and Repealing Ordinance No. 747," is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 2. Number of Members, Appointment and Removal; <br />not Entitled to Certain Benefits. The determination of the total number <br />of members of the Auxiliary Police Unit shall be determined jointly by <br />the Chief of Police and Civil Defense Director, subject to approval <br />of the Mayor and Council. The Mayor shall, upon recommendation of the <br />Chief of Police and the Civil Defense Director, appoint members of the <br />Auxiliary Police Unit, subject to approval by Council, and such members <br />shall serve until removed by the Mayor. The Chief of Police shall have <br />exclusive control of the stationing and transferring of the Auxiliary <br />Police Officers, under such general rules and regulations as the PSayor <br />may prescribe. Members of the Auxiliary Police Unit shall not be con- <br />sidered as regular members of the Police Department for purposes of <br />tenure. and shall not receive compensation nor be entitled to partici- <br />pation in the Police Pension Fund or any successor thereto; provided, <br />however, that Auxiliary Policemen shall be paid at the rate of $2.15 <br />per hour for attending Mayor's Court, Council Meetings, or other <br />meetings upon assignment by the Mayor or Chief of Police, beginning as of <br />January 1, 1969." <br />Section 2, In all other respects, said Ordinance No. 930 shall remain <br />in full force and effect. <br />Section 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and <br />welfare of the Village of Mayfield and its inhabitants, in order to have the <br />services of Auxiliary Policemen immediately available for the purposes above <br />mentioned, and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the <br />date of its passage. <br />Passed this 17th day of February, 1969, . ,,~°~ <br /> <br />ATTEST: _ ~ J <br />(SETJA1L`) ~ CLERK-TRE ~/URE/ R <br />~`,~ <br />1IdAY ~TZESI ANT OF COUNCIL <br /> <br />
