ORDINANCE N0. 69-46 BY: MR. SCHMIDT AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CLERK-TREASURER TO PURCHASE RADIO COAiMUNICATION EQUIPMENT FOR THE POLICE, FIRE AND SERVICE DEPARTMENTS WITHOUT ADVERTISING FOR BIDS BECAUSE OF A REAL AND EXISTING EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, all radio communication equipment of the Village of Mayfield has been destroyed by fire, and it is not possible to provide adequately for the public safety and welfare in the Police, Fire and Service Departments without replacing said equipment with all speed and without taking the time for competitive bidding. and WHEREAS, a real and present emergency exists rendering it necessary to order said equipment immediately, and WHEREAS, only one company has available the equipment which is compatible with the existing facilities presently used by said Departments. NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Ordained by the Village of Mayfield, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, that: .Section 1. The Clerk-Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed, with the assistance of the heads of the Police, Fire and Service Departments to order equipment for the Police, Fire and Service Departments to replace that which was destroyed in the recent fire, as soon as funds are available for that purpose, and without advertising for bids. Section 2. The necessary funds far that purpose are hereby appropriated from the General Fund and the Building, Bquipment and Maintenance Fund of the Village. Sectidn'3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure, necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare of the Village of Mayfield and its inhabitants for the reasons hereinabove stated, and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage.
