<br />"i AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING CERTAIN PUBLIC
<br />ASSEMBLAGES OF MORE THAN ONE HUNDRED
<br />n PERSONS OUTDOORS OR IN TENTS.

<br />C!) WHEREAS, the assemblage of a large number of people outdoors or in
<br />'~ tents for the purpose of conducting, attending and participating in shows, musical
<br />W concerts, exhibitions, carnivals, religious and church services and exercises, and
<br />®" other recreational purposes, tends to disturb the peace, quiet, dignity, enjoyment
<br />~ ~ and wellbeing of citizens and residents in the Village of Mayfield, and further
<br />~ constitutes a hazard to the health and safety of the persons participating in such
<br />~ activities.

<br />~ NOW, THEREFORE, Be It Ordained by Council of the Village of Mayfield,
<br />' County of Cuyahoga, State of Ohio, that:
<br />Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, partnership,
<br />association or corporation to hold, conduct or sponsor a public assemblage of
<br />more than one hundred persons outdoors or in a tent made of canvas or similar
<br />materials or in a temporary type building for which no building permit has been
<br />issued, on any land in the Village of Mayfield for the purpose of conducting or
<br />sponsoring a show, musical concert, exhibit, carnival, or church or religious
<br />service or exercise. Provided, however, that nothing in this ordinance shall
<br />prohibit the holding of athletic. and educational events on public property under
<br />authority of the public school authorities or the recreation committee of the
<br />Village of Mayfield.
<br />Section 2. Nothing contained in this Ordinance shall be construed by
<br />implication as permitting any activity which violates any zoning ordinance of
<br />the Village of Mayfield.
<br />Section 3. Any person, firm, partnership, association, corporation or
<br />~x) officer, director, or employee thereof, who shall sponsor, promote or conduct any
<br />~~ public assemblage of more than one hundred persons in violation of Section 1 of
<br />~ this Ordinance, and anyone who shall permit the same to be held and conducted on
<br />land owned, leased, managed or controlled by him, shall be fined not more than
<br />IL~~ $500.00 or imprisoned not more than 30 days, or both, and each day of continuance
<br />fCJ of such violation shall constitute a separate offense.
<br />Section 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure
<br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and
<br />W welfare of the Village of Mayfield and its inhabitants, and for the further reason
<br />~ that the holding of assemblages of the kind above described may interfere with the
<br />W peace, quiet, dignity, enjoyment and wellbeing of the citizens of the community, and
<br />~ this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its
<br />~ passage.
