By Mr. Walker <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE N0. 476 <br />SY INCREASING,THE NUMBER OF MFMBERS OF_THE EIRE DEPARTMENT <br />BE IT ORDpINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAYFISf.D, CUYqHOGA COUNTY, <br />OHIO, THAT: , -- <br />Sec. 1. Section 2 of Ordinattce No. 476 etttitled: "pn Ordinance Re- <br />Codifying the Various Ordinances Establishing and Creating a Volunteer Fire <br />Departmettt for the Village of Mayfield, Adding the Position of pssistant Chief, <br />and Repealing Ordinance Nos. 231, 292, 302, 412, 434, 462, and all Ordinances <br />Inconsistent Herewith" is hereby amended to read.as follows: <br />"Sec. 2. The Village Fire Department shall consist of a Chief, <br />Assistant Chief, a Captain,_two T,ieutenants, and not more than thirty <br />Firemen, all of whom shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to the <br />approval and cottfiLmation of Council. All members of the Fire Department <br />shall continue in office until they resign or are removed for the causes <br />and under the procedure provided by the applicable statutes of the State <br />of Ohio and Ordinances of the Village of Mayfield." <br />Sec. 2. Existing Section 2 of Ordinance No. 476 is hereby repealed as of <br />the effective date of this Ordinance. However, the presettt members and officers <br />of the Fire Departmedt shall continue in their respective positions without the <br />necessity of_reappointment. <br />Sec. 3. This Ordinance is hereby deemed to be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety <br />and welfare of the Village of Mayfield and its inhabitants in order to bring <br />the membership of the Fire Department to a size consummate with the growth of <br />the Village, and this ordinance shall go into effect and be in £orce from and <br />after the date of its passage. <br />Passed this 15th day of ,yugust, 1966. <br />Attest: Mayor - President of ouncil ? <br />- (Seal) Clerk-Treasu er
