ORDINAIVCE No. 975 <br />By Mr. Shaw <br />AN ORDINANCE TO PURCHASE A NEW POLICE AUTOMOBIlE <br />FRONI NEWMAN PONTIAC, INC. <br />i+i[lEREAS, Newman Pontiac, Inc., a responsible bidder, duly filed its <br />bid with the Clerk-Treasurer of the Village of Mayfield in accordance with <br />law, offering to sell to the Village a new 1967 Pontiac Catalina 4-Door Sedan <br />Police Cruiser equipped according to the specifications on file in the office <br />of the Clerk-Treasurer for the sum of $2,984.29, and to purchase from the <br />Village the 1965 Pontiac automobile currently being used by the Police <br />Department for the sum of $1,000.00, the balance of $1,984.29 to be paid by <br />the Village in cash, which is•: in accordance with the advertisement for bids <br />published by the Clerk-Treasurer; and <br />WIiEREAS, the said bid of Newman Pontiac, Inc. is the lowest and best <br />bid submitted. . NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIfiI.D, <br />CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OHIO, THAT; <br />Sec. 1. The bid of Newmatt Pontiac, Inc, offering to sell to the Village <br />of Mayfield a new 1967 pontiac Catalina 4-Door Sedan Police Cruiser Automobile <br />to be used for police purposes, according to the specifications on file in the <br />office of the Clerk-Treasurer in connection with the advertisement for bids, <br />for the sum of $2,984.29, of which $1,984.29 is to be paid by the Village in <br />cash and the balance of $1,000.00 by transferring to said Newman Pontiac, Inc. <br />title to the 1965 Potttiae Automobile now used by the Police Department of the <br />Village, be and the same is hereby accepted. _ <br />Sec. 2. The Mayor and the Clerk-Treasurer of the Village are hereby <br />authorized and empowered to execute all such documents and do all things <br />necessary to carry out the provisions of this ordinance. <br />Sec. 3. This Ordinance is deened to be an emergency measure, necessary <br />Eor the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare <br />of the Village of Mayfield and its inhabitahts in order to obtain as soon as <br />economically possible better police protection through more efficient equipment <br />and that said ordinance shall go into effect and be in force immediately upon <br />the date of its passage. <br />Passed this 17th day of October, 1966. <br />Attest: /lY?J± ? <br />? a?. <br />?
