ORDINANCE N0. 1017 <br />BY DAVIS <br />AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF ASSISTANT TO CLERK-TREASURER <br />AND FIXING THE TENURE, COMPENSATION AND DUTIES THEREOF. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD, CUYAHOGA <br />COUNTY, OHIO, THAT: <br />Sec. 1. There is hereby created the position of Assistant to <br />the Clerk-Treasurer, who shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the <br />consent of the majority of inembers elected to Council, and may be <br />removed at any time by an affirmative vote of the majority of inembers <br />elected to Council. <br />Sec. 2. The duties of the Assistant to the Clerk-Treasurer <br />shall be to assist the Clerk-Treasurer in the typing of minutes, <br />papers,forms, and documents, to attend the meetings of Council, and <br />of the Safety and Service Committee and to assist in the preparation <br />of the minutes thereof, and to do whatever secretarial work may be <br />assigned by the Clerk-Treasurer. If the Assistant to the <br />Clerk-Treasurer also attends meetings of the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission, he shall have the duties provided in Ordinance No. 889, <br />but shall be compensated in the manner set forth in Section 3 of <br />this Ordinance. <br />Sec. 3. The compensation of the Assistant to the <br />Clerk-Treasurer, shall be at the rate of $1.75 per hour, which com- <br />pensation may be changed by Council at any time. Such person shall <br />perform her duties in the office of the Clerk-Treasurer approximately <br />20 hours per week, in addition to the time spent in attendance at <br />meetings of Council, Safety and Service Committee, and the Planning <br />and Zoning Commission, for all of which services she shall be compen- <br />sated at the same hourly rate. Such person shall be entitled to hao <br />week's vacation with pay in each calendar year. The pay for vacation <br />purposes shall be computed on the basis of the average pay of such <br />person during said calendar year. <br />Sec. 4. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, <br />health, safety, and welfare of the Village of Mayfield and its <br />inhabitants in order that proper personnel may be obtained to assist <br />the Clerk-Treasurer, so that his duties may be performed to the best <br />advantage, and this Ordinance shall talce effect and be in force from <br />and after the date of its passage. <br />Passed this 17th day of July, 1967. <br />Mayor- President of Coun il <br />Attest: <br />- ?1W /7,1 <br />(SEAL) Clerk-Treasurer
