RESOLUTION NO. 2014-30 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING TI3E MAYOR AND DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO FILE AN APPLICATION WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES FOR FUNDING THROUGH THE RECREATIONAL TRAILS PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the State of Ohio, through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, administers financial assistance for public recreation purposes, through the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) and the Clean Ohio Trails Fund (COTF); WHEREAS, the Recreational Trails Program provides 75% funding up to $150,000 for the development of trailhead facilities and trail linkages for recreational trails including, but not limited to, drainage, stabilization, parking and signage; WHEREAS, the Village desires to seek financial assistance under the Recreational Trails Program for development of trailhead facilities located adjacent to and north of the Village's Fire Station. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. Mayfield Village, by and through its Council, approves filing an application for Recreational Trails Program financial assistance. SECTION 2.The Mayor and Director of Finance are hereby authorized and directed to file an application with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and to provide all information and documentation required to become eligible for possible funding assistance. SECTION 3. The Village does hereby agree to obligate the funds required to satisfactorily complete the proposed project and become eligible for reimbursement under the terms and conditions of the Recreational Trails Program. SECTION 4. The Mayor and Director of Finance are further authorized to enter into any additional agreements or to sign any additional documentation as may be necessary or appropriate for obtaining the financial assistance requested through the filing of this application.
