J <br />-- ORDINANCE NO. 2002- :37? <br />?' 1f --INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING THE WAGE ORDINANCE <br />NO. 2000-14 TO REIMBURSE VILLAGE EMPLOYEES FOR THE <br />DIFFERENCE IN CO-PAYS RESULTING FROM THE VILLAGE'S NEW <br />HEALTH CARE PLAN WITH ANTHEM PPO <br />WHEREAS, the Village has been forced to change carriers and benefit levels for <br />employee medical insurance including prescription riders and life insurance and to change <br />carriers for dental insurance; and <br />WHEREAS, as a result of the need to change carriers and benefit plans the Village <br />has entered into a new agreement for health insurance with Anthem PPO; and <br />WHEREAS, prescription co-pays have been increased, and the Village wishes to <br />reimburse all Village employees the difference in prescription co-pays as they relate to the <br />previous limit of•Five Dollars ($5.00) and the new co-pay structure. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. Effective April 1, 2002 and continuing through December 31, 2002 the <br />Village shall reimburse Village employees for the difference in prescription co-pays as they <br />relate to the previous limit of Five Dollars ($5.00) and the new co-pay structure. This shall <br />be done on any and all prescriptions filled during this time, provided that generic brands are <br />purchased when available. Name brands will be reimbursed only if not available, or the <br />treating physician mandates name brand upon receipts presented by the Village employee <br />to the Finance Department at the end of the calendar year. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this Council <br />relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of this Council; <br />and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such formal action, <br />took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory requirements <br />including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. . <br />SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio.
