_ ORDINANCE NO. 95-59 <br />' INTRODUCED BY: Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE IV, SECTION 2 OF THE <br />CHARTER OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE PERTAINING TO THE <br />QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE MAYOR <br />WHEREAS, Article XI of the Village Charter provides for a <br />Charter Review Commission every five years; and <br />WHEREAS, the Charter Review Commission has recommended to <br />Council the amendment as hereinafter stated. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That Article IV, Section 2 of the Charter of the <br />Village of Mayfield, is hereby and herein amended to read as <br />follows: <br />ARTICLE IV <br />THE MAYOR <br /> <br />SECTION 2. QUALIFICATIONS <br />The Mayor shall have physically resided and been a <br />qualified elector of the Municipality for at least ~-r~e <br />{3} two (2~ continuous years immediately preceding his <br />election and shall continue to physically reside in and <br />be a qualified elector of the Municipality throughout his <br />term of office. The Mayor shall not hold any other <br />elected public office or other employment with Mayfield <br />Village, but may be a notary public, a member of the <br />State militia or reserve corp of the United States, <br />unless otherwise prohibited by this Charter. <br />SECTION 2. This ordinance, upon adoption by Council, shall be <br />referred by the Clerk to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections for <br />placement on the ballot in November, 1995. Upon this proposed <br />amendment being approved by the majority of the electors voting <br />thereon, it shall become part of the Charter of the Village of <br />Mayfield. <br />SECTION 3. The language appearing on the ballot on November <br />7, 1995, shall be as follows: <br />PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT <br />(MAJORITY AFFIRMATIVE VOTE REQUIRED) <br />
