ORDINANCE NO. 952 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE V, SECTION 1 OF THE <br />CHARTER OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE PERTAINING TO THE DEPARTMENT HEADS <br />WHEREAS, Article XI of the Village Charter provides for a <br />Charter Review Commission every five years; and <br />WHEREAS, the Charter Review Commission has recommended to <br />Council the amendment as hereinafter stated. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That Article V, Section 1 of the Charter of the <br />Village of Mayfield, is hereby and herein amended to read as <br />follows: <br />ARTICLE V <br />ADMINISTRATIVE DEPARTMENTS, BOARD AND COMMISSIONS <br />SECTION 1. GENERAL PROVISIONS. <br />The Municipality shall have an Architectural Review <br />Board, a Recreation Board, a Law Department, a Finance <br />Department, a Civil Service Commission, a Department of <br />Public Service, a Police Department,' a Fire Department, <br />a Building Department, a Planning and Zoning Commission, <br />a Board of Appeals, and a Commission on Aging. The <br />Council shall provide by ordinance for the organization <br />and duties thereof not provided by this Charter. The <br />Council may establish by ordinance new administrative <br />offices, departments, boards and commissions or divisions <br />thereof and, with the exception of the offices, <br />departments, boards and commissions established by this <br />Charter, may combine or abolish such offices, <br />departments, boards and commissions or divisions thereof <br />as it may deem to be necessary or desirable. The Council <br />may authorize one person to be the head of two (2) or <br />more departments, board or commissions or divisions <br />thereof. All heads of the departments indicated above or <br />otherwise created by Council shall create and maintain a <br />iob description for each full-time position within their <br />Department. <br />~ * ~ <br />SECTION 2. This ordinance, upon adoption by Council, shall be <br />referred by the Clerk to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections for <br />placement on the ballot in November, 1995. Upon this proposed <br />amendment being approved by the majority of the electors voting <br />thereon, it shall become part of the Charter of the Village of <br />Mayfield. <br />
