see amended copy <br />~. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 92-;28 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Councilman Ferrante <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDING SECTION 123.02 OF THE CODIFIED <br />ORDINANCES OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, PERTAINING <br />TO THE PURCHASE OF GOODS AND SERVICES FOR THE <br />MUNICIPALITY, PROVIDING FOR ALL NECESSARY <br />PROCEDURES IN CONNECTION THEREWITH AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY'THE COUNCIL OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. Section 123.02 of the Codified Ordinances of <br />Mayfield Village, Ohio, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />(Deleted material appears like a and new material appears like <br />THIS) <br />Chapter 123 <br />Ordinances and Contracts <br />* * ~ <br />123.02 CONTRACTS; ADVERTISING FOR BIDS; AWARD. <br />The advertising for bids involving the expenditure of more <br />than Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) shall be made by motion of <br />Council directing the Clerk of Council to advertise for not less <br />than once during each of two consecutive weeks in a newspaper of <br />general circulation in the Municipality. Notwithstanding the <br />authority of Council, the Mayor shall also have the authority to <br />place an advertisement for bids as required herein. The award of <br />a contract accepting such bid shall be by resolution of Council and <br />shall direct the Mayor and President of Council to enter into an <br />appropriate contract. <br />No purchase if goods and services in an amount equal to or <br />greater than ~-e-~re era-~r~-~n~ed~e' ' ~ ' c~e-~ ONE <br />THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,500.00) shall be made without <br />first obtaining at least two written quotations from reputable <br />suppliers submitted to Council. Authority to make such purchases <br />shall be made by motion approved by a majority of the members <br />elected to Council. HOWEVER, SHOULD ANY DEPARTMENT HEAD DETERMINE <br />AN EMERGENCY SITUATION EXISTS IN HIS DEPARTMENT, REQUIRING AN <br />IMMEDIATE PURCHASE FOR RELIEF, THEN THE MAYOR MAY MAKE SUCH <br />PURCHASE WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL OF COUNCIL. <br />For the purchase of goods or services in amounts less than ~e <br />t~1 ~, a ~~~zira~e~-~63~1~5~~`~,-~$A~- ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED <br />DOLLARS ($1,500.00), the Mayor shall have authority to make the <br />purchase without prior authorization from Council so long as the <br />availability of appropriated funds for such purchase is certified <br />by the Finance Director. In addition, the Mayor shall have further <br />authority to purchase, without prior authorization of Council, <br />goods or services in amounts less than ~~t-~i~z~' ~"_~ ~"""'~""' <br />do~~a~~$z' ; 5-A-9~}- ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1, 500.00) even <br />though such amount is unappropriated. <br />
