1 'I <br />~ ~ C <br />. <br />ESOLUTION 2005-0~ <br />R <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bruce G. Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO <br />RALPH NEWMAN <br />WHEREAS, Ralph Newman and his wife Ellen have lived in <br />Mayfield Village for almost 30 years and enjoy spending time with their <br />two sons and four grandchildren; and <br />WHEREAS, Ralph Newman served his country in the Korean <br />War; and <br />WHEREAS, Ralph Newman diligently served Mayfield Village for <br />over two decades as a member of the Mayfield Village Planning and <br />Zoning Commission from 1981 to 2004; and <br />WHEREAS, Ralph Newman also served Mayfield Village as a <br />member of the Board of Appeals; and.. <br />WHEREAS, over many years, Ralph Newman was involved in the <br />community and saw Mayfield Village progress as one of the premier <br />communities in Cuyahoga County, while maintaining its stature as a <br />Village of less than 5,000 citizens; <br />WHEREAS, Ralph Newman worked for TRW and Argotech as <br />Traffic Manager for approximately 15 years until his retirement; and <br />WHEREAS, Ralph Newman has been an active member of his <br />Church, St. John Lutheran in South Euclid, and the Cleveland Traffic <br />Club; and <br />WHEREAS, Ralph and Ellen Newman's sons, Kurt and Mark, <br />have spent summers working for the Village Service Departrnent; and <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COIINCII. OF HAYFIELD VII+LAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />Ralph Newman be and is hereby recognized for <br />his devoted service to Mayfield Village. <br />Section 1. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to prepare <br />duplicate original copies of this Resolution. One such original shall be presented <br />to Ralph Newman. The other original shall be placed in the permanent records of <br />the Village as a lasting tribute to Ralph Newman. <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effective upon its adoption by <br />Council and the signature of the Njayor,~ or as may otherwise be provided by~~g` <br />. WILLIAM BUCKHOLTZ, COUNCIL <br />BR~TCE Zl.
