ORDINANCE NO. 97-33 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE <br />AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH <br />MORNING PRIDE CORPORATION FOR <br />THE PURCHASE OF FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />TURNOUT GEAR IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $11,080.00 <br />FOR TEN SETS <br />WHEREAS, Village Council has deemed it necessary, and based upon the <br />recommendation of the Fire Chief to purchase turnout gear for use by the Mayfield Village <br />Fire Fighters; and <br />WHEREAS, due to the failure of the first vendor to deliver previously approved <br />turnout gear, it is now necessary to enter into an agreement with another vendor. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD <br />VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. That authorization is hereby granted to enter into a contract with <br />Morning Pride Corporation for the purchase of turnout gear for use by the Mayfield Village <br />Fire Department at a cost of One Thousand One Hundred and Eight Dollars ($1,108.00) <br />per set, for a total cost of Eleven Thousand Eighty Dollars ($11,080.00) for the purchase <br />of ten sets. <br />SECTION 2. The Council finds and determines that all formal actions of this <br />Council relating to the adoption of this Ordinance have been taken at open meetings of <br />this Council; and that deliberations of this Council and of its committees, resulting in such <br />formal action, took place in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all statutory <br />requirements including the requirements of Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br />SECTION 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio, and for the further reasons that time is of the essence both to act to protect <br />and preserve the existing eco-system and with respect to offered acquisition funding. It <br />shall, therefore, take effect immediately upon the passage by the affirmative vote of not <br />less than five (5) members elected to Council and approval by the Mayor. or otherwise at <br />the earliest time allowed bylaw. <br />
