AMENDED 9/17/90 ORDINANCE N0. 90- 39 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1501.13, SUBSECTION F-412.0 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF HAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO PERTAINING TO THE INSTALLATION OF KEY BOXES ON PROPERTIES PROTECTED BY AUTOMATIC ALARM SYSTEMS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, the Mayfield Village Fire Department may be summoned at times when a structure is not occupied or when the occupant of a structure is not able to provide ingress for the Fire Department; and WHEREAS, it is desirable to prevent damages through forceful entry to structures and to provide swift entry into structures by the Fire Department; and WHEREAS, Council enacted. and amended. Section 1501.13 of the Codified Ordinances of Mayfield Village, that enumerated. certain exceptions to the Ohio Fire Code; and WHEREAS, the Fire Department Chief has recommended additional. exceptions to the Ohio Fire Code to provide for the mandatory installation of key boxes on all properties protected. by automatic alarm systems; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF.MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: SECTION 1. Section 1501.13, Subsection F-412.0 of, the Codified Ordinances of Mayfield Village, Ohio, entitled "Key Boxes" is hereby amended to read as follows: (Deleted material. appears like tli~s and new material appears like THIS) F-412.0 Key Boxes f l~i~.~~'j (AMENDED) (A) All> ~~w~3~r~.onstzuct.~e~ .buildings regardless of use of occupancy, except for residential dwellings under four (4) units, shall have installed key box systems at a location approved by the Fire Department. (B) Such boxes shall be .provided with master keys neces- sary for access to all portions of the premises 'priwr-ty- -eECtrgsy~,a~d~~o~ -~# ~a~y ~:I-~- (C) The contents of the key boxes shall contain: (~l) Keys to locked points of ingress whether on the interior or exterior of such buildings.
