ORDINANCE NO. 91-34 <br />INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole <br />AN ORDINANCE <br />INCREASING THE COMPEN3ATION OF THE MAYOR, <br />SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORATE FOR APPROVAL, <br />PROVIDING FOR ALL NECESSARY PROCEDURES IN CONNECTION <br />THEREWITH AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREA3, during the past several years, Mayfield Village <br />has incurred extensive development in residential and commercial <br />areas; and <br />WHEREAS, such developments have required an,extraordinary <br />amount of time and effort by the various elected officials in <br />order to protect the interest of Mayfield Village; and <br />WHEREAS, the existing Charter under Article III, Section 7, <br />provides that an increase in compensation for Council or the <br />Mayor must be enacted by Ordinance and submitted to the <br />? electorate for approval by a majority vote thereof; and <br />WHEREAS, the next election is to held on Tuesday, November <br />5, 1991, and any such issue, therefore, must be submitted to the <br />Cuyahoga County Board of Election at least seventy-five (75) days <br />prior thereto, on August 22, 1991; now therefore, <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF MAYFIELD VILLAGE, OHIO, THAT: <br />SECTION 1. The annual salary of the Mayor of Mayfield <br />Village, Ohio shall be Twelve Thousand Dollars ($12,000.00), <br />effective January l, 1992, and continuing thereafter. <br />The question to appear on the ballot shall be as follows: <br />Shall Ordinance <br />salary from Ten <br />Thousand Dollars <br />adopted? <br />No. 91-34, increasing the Mayor's <br />Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) to Twelve <br />($12,000.00) beginning 01/01/92, be <br />0
