ORDINANCE NO. 2017-37 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Bodnar and Council as a Whole AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1333.01 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES FOR THE INCORPORATION OF THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE, 2017 EDITION WHEREAS, due to the publishing of the National Electric Code, 2017 Edition, by the National Fire Protection Association, it has been deemed in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of all Village residents to amend Section 1333.01 of the Codified Ordinances to adopt the 2017 Edition of the National Electric Code. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of Mayfield Village, County of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, that: SECTION 1. Section 1333.01 of the Codified Ordinances of the Village pertaining to the National Electric Code, is hereby and herein amended to read as follows: 1333.01 ADOPTION; ENFORCEMENT. (a) The National Electric Code of ~)- 2017, as well as any subsequent updates; addenda or amendments to the Code, is hereby adopted and incorporated by reference as part of the Mayfield Village Building Code as if fully set forth herein, save and except such portions herein that maybe deleted, modified or amended . The purpose of the National Electric Code is to provide minimum standards so that all electrical materials and installations in dwelling units of One, Two and Three Family Dwellings, mobile homes, multiple family dwellings, commercial occupancies and industrial occupancies shall be in accordance with the requirements. of the National Electric Code N.F.P.A - 70 sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association. ~~~ SECTION 2. All other provisions of the Village Codified Ordinances not inconsistent herewith shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 3. The Clerk of Council is authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this Ordinance to the Codifier of Mayfield Village.
