Minutes of Special Meeting <br />October 31, 1960 <br />The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in Special Meeting at the <br />Town Hall at 8:00 P. M. on Alonday, October 31, 1960, pursuant to notice <br />given to all members of Council according to law, Niayor Endress presiding. <br />Roll Call: Present - Messrs Wedler,Bennett,Brown,Grootegoed & Belzer. <br />Absent - Mr. Zorn, <br />This meeting had_been called by Mayor Endress to consider a request <br />from the Zoning and Planning Commission that certain property at the North <br />East end o£ Wilson Pdills Road and lying within our village be re-zoned for <br />High Rise Apartments. <br />Also present at this meeting was Mro Uhler, Mr, Hoag of the Zoning <br />and Planning Commission and Pqr. Cutting, representing Tectonics, Inc. <br />Mr. Edelman then advised Council that they could not consider this <br />request for re-zoning, as we had no classif ication of this sort in our <br />Zoning Ordinance, and it would be necessary to f irst amend the Zoning <br />Ordinance before considering this request. <br />Mrs. Brown, seconded by .Gr.ootEgoe.d„ then introdueed Ordinance Noe 721, <br />entitled: "An Ordinance to Amend Ordinance No. 159:, the Zoning Ordinance, <br />by Amending,Section 3 so as to Create Niulti-Story Apartment House Use <br />Districts and by Adding Section 8(a) Pertaining to Multi-Story Apartment <br />House Use Districts", which Ordinance was read to Council. This Ordinance <br />was then placed upon its f irst reading„ <br />It was then moved by Mrs. Brown, seconded by Mr. Belzer, that a public <br />hearing be set for December 8th, at 8:00 P. M. to consider this amendment <br />to the Zoning Ordinance. <br />Ro11 Ca11: Ayes - Messrs Wedler, Bennett,Brown,Grootegoed & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />b4otion carried <br />Niayor Endress then read a telegram from the Weaver Brothers of <br />Baltimore, stating that they were willing to f inance these high rise <br />apartments. <br />Mayor Endress also read a letter f rom rSr. Sam Wellman, stating that <br />he was not in favor of any change in the Zoning Ordinance and asked to be <br />advised of any meeting held by Council that dealt with this undertaking. <br /> <br />1. <br />?
