<br />Ninutes of the Special Nieeting <br />January 23, 1961 <br />? The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in Special Meet:ing at the <br />Town Hall at 8:00 P. M. on NSonday, January 23, 1961, pursuant to notice given <br />to all members of Council according to law, Mayor Endress presiding. <br />Roll Call: Present - Messrs Zorn, jaedler,Bennett,Brown,Grootegoed & Belzer. <br />- Absent - None. - <br />Mayor Endress then remarked that Council would have to set a date for a <br />Specia-l Hearing to re-zone certain property within the Village for High Rise <br />Apartments, Mr. Edelman said that he had a description of this property but <br />would like to have our Engineer check it and verify his description. <br />• There was some question by Mr. Stanard as to the legality of setting <br />a date before Ordinance 721 was effective. Mr. Edelman said that this did <br />not affeci: this ordinance - that the ordinance to re-zone property for High <br />Rise Apartments had only been introduced but not passed. Mr. Edelman said <br />also that there was no hurry on a public hearing, but, as there would probably <br />be a referendum at the Fall election, he thought both ordinances could be <br />talcen care of at the same timea <br />Mayor Endress then asked Council if they wished to set an open date for <br />this hearing. Mr. Grootegoed then aslced Mr. Edelman if he was ready as he had <br />to have the description verified. Nlr. Edelman said that it would= only take <br />a few days to do this. - <br />It was then moved by Mr. Belzer, seconded by iKr. Wedler, that a date be <br />set for March 6th, Monday, at 8:00 P. M. at the Town Hall. <br />Roll Ca11: Ayes - Niessrs Zorn,Wedler,Bennett,Brown,Grootegoed & Be=lzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />Niotion carried <br />Mayor Endress then said that our ordinances setting f orth the rate of <br />pay for the Police Department, the Service DepartLnent, and for the Telephone <br />answering service should be amended. <br />NIr. Belzer, seconded by Mr. Grootegoed, then introduced Ordinance No. 730' <br /> entitled: "An Ordinance to Amend Section 3 of Ordinance No. 583, as Amended, <br /> by Increasing the Compensation of A4embers of the Police Departinent", which <br />' ordinance was read to Council. <br /> It was moved by Mr. Wedler , seconded by Mr. Belzer, that the rules of <br /> law requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions?be suspended, <br />l.
