IJ <br />Minutes of the Special kleeting <br />... Y-a.y 24th, 1956 <br />The Co1xncil of the Village of Mayfielcl met in Special: Yieeting at <br />the Vi3.Il.age _ Ha,].l at $: 00 P. M. pursuant to notice given to all members <br />of Couracil9 according.to l.a.w, Mayor Endress_presiding. <br />Roll Ca11= Preserrt - Nessrs Taylor.,Strater,Ttled3.er,Brawn,Fa71c 8c Hopkins. <br />.Absent - None, - - <br />Mayor Endress then opened the meting wi.th the follawing remarks, <br />"As you. knoi,?, _ the prineipal reason for this specia'. meeting is to discuss <br />the plat submitted at the last Council meeting by the Caputo Brothers <br />' and the question of Hemingwwj Drive as an outlet to the allotment"• <br />Ntayor Endress went on to say that as Counc31 had visited the scene Tuesday <br />ni.ght,_they now knew the location of the street and the situation of the <br />:1, people concerned. Dur Ordinariee No. 191; a copy of which had been presented <br />to each Councilman,.was read. Th.i.s orclinance covered the dedicatian of <br />War?ton Boulevard and. Hein3ngway Drive, passed by Council on November 25, 1940s <br />The Caputo Brothers then pretented photostati.c copies of deeds to the two <br />piE:ces of property in question. wh3.cli traced ona of their boundary lines in <br />each case tm Hemin.gwa,y Drive. One deed was dated 1951 and the other 1953. <br />Mayor Endress.,then asked for some discussion from the floor. <br />Mrs. Stofcha saici that they had g3..ven Dr. Saurin a deposit for the <br />purchase o£ the street in.question, bu.t after. -Mr. Ede]snan had found that <br />tlie s treet was declicated, thear money wag returned. <br />Mr. Minnelo sa.id tha.t the Stofchos had approached him two yeaxs ago. <br />with the idea of purchasing the propexty in back of the two lots and tha.t <br />they knew at the time that the street was there. Mr. Minnelo went on to <br />say that he had agreed to sell this property if the buyers would all,aw tYxe <br />road to go through. <br />Ilfr, Fa1k asked the Caputv Brothers if t;hey wauld consider moving <br />the origi?nal road tot,rard-the back to use up some of the property left un- <br />all,otted, but I`Zayor Enciress sa3d that this was not the issue a-t the <br />preserrt time. <br />_Mr: Stofcho asked the Caputo Brothers if they would eonsider going <br />back to.'the_origi.nal plan whieh called for smaller lots, but the Caputo <br />Brothers said that., as it did not agree raith our ordinances Covncil had <br />refused to consider it' and the allotanent as presented did agree with our <br />ardinane.e.
