op MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETTNG
ViIlage of Aqayfield
Feb. 21, 1972
The Council of the Village of Mayfield met in regular session at Mayfield
Village Hall on Monday, February 21, 1972 at 8:10 P.M., Mayor Robert G.
Beebe, presiding.
The P].edge of AZlegiance to the Flag was given.
Roll Call: Present: Mayor Beebe, Messrs. Boger, Bordonaro, Braun, Aavis,
Leech and Schmidt.
Absent: None.
Also.present were Messrs. D°Agostino, Edelman, Hovancsek, Relic,Chiefs
Hejcl and Shortle.
Mayor Beebe prefaced the meeting with a general summary of his first sixty
days in office. The village government is.in a normal and satisfactory
condition to date and he credited Mr. Relic, the Clerk-treasurer, with tire-
less hours of work.
OLD BUSINESS:
Water Pollution Control: Mr. Edelman: The City of Cieveland alone couldn't
keep from polluting Lake Erie and so the Common Pleas Court also enjoined .
the municipalities contributing to the Cleveland sewer system from making
new connections. The communities around here are tied into the Beech iiill
system which by-passes and goes into the lake and they were also enjoined
by the state Water Pollution Board from making sewer connections.
Beech Hi11/Bonnieview Pnmp Station & Regional_Planning Survey: Mr. Hovancsek:
A sewage treatment plant was constructed and operated for several decades ,
serving a portion of Mayfield Heights, Highland Heights and Mayfield Village
on a 20 acre parcel.of l.and opposite Bonnieview Drive on the east side of
Beech Hi11 Road. In approximately 1955 the county constructed the Bonriie-
view Road Comminuter Station in Beech Hill Pump Station to replace the old
sewage plant. Most of the waste comes from Mayfield Heights. The present
systear cannot handle the overload and updating requires a million gallon
holding tank and improvements to the existing comminuter and pumping station.
N[r. Hovancsek prepared a draft letter to be sent by the village to various
governmental agencies.
Village Hall - Houston Associates: Mr. Leech: Reported that the con-
tractors have been paid. We have received a guarantee from the air con-
ditioning and heating sub-contractors for an adequate period of testing
time.
Post & Gruilo Homes: Post home has been knocked, down. Gullo home, which
is north of Fisher's Tavern on SOM Center Rd. has a target date of March
lst or shortly thereafter for demolitian.
