MINUTES OF THE PUBLIC HEARITdG <br />' Village of N1ayfield April 5, 1972 <br />. <br /> <br />The Council of the Village of T,-Tayfield met at a I=ublic Hearing at <br />M,-ayfield:Center School on L^Tednesday, April 5,.1972 at 8:08 p.m., <br />Prayor Robert U. Beebe, presided. <br />Roll Cal1 : Present: P•iessrs. Bo ;er, Bordonaro, Brauiz and Davis. <br />Absent,: Absent: Pfr. Leech - Mr. Schmidt arrivecl at <br />' 8:15 P.m. <br />Also present.were Messrs. Hovancsek, Kreckel arid Relic <br /> <br />Mayor Beebe ovened the. hearing by stating that thi_s is an open <br />hearing and that council.members are here to hear proponents and <br />opponents. h4r. Relic stated that pursuant to notice in the newspaper of a <br />Public Hearing it is being held as required by law on proposed <br />Ordiriance ;y-72-1, Entitled: "AN .OnDIVANCE TO A.ivIEPTD THE ZOrdItiTG <br />ORDTT•dAl?TCE 0F THE VILLAGE OF MAYFIELD BY TRANSFERRTPIG CERTAIId <br />aROpERTY; Ot•; THE- NORTH SIDE OF nJILSON MILLS ROAD FRGM A CLASS U- <br />3 AA: USE. DISTRICT (RESTRICTED MULT,ISTORY APARTMEIVT HOUSE) TO A,. <br />CL.4SS U-1 USE DTSTRICT (SITIGLE FA.t?IILY RESIDENCE)." <br />Proponents for the highrise (opponents to Ordinance.#72-1): <br />Mr. John F. -Ray, Jr. : Attorney for the applicants stated that <br />they filedafor a building pe.rmit for construction i'or Upper Forty <br />Joint Venture Unlimited. Application fo-r this permit was filed <br />'on Jan. 14, 1972e Proposed are 536 units, 22 stories high, 2 <br />iloors below ground level for parking 608 cars, <br />Mr. Ed Zareinba: ,Stated that they are Droposing a building similar <br />to ti,rhat they now' have built in Lakewaod, Ohio, ca].led the Carlyle <br />Towers. Ne produced an axtist's rendering af the building. He <br />gave a;e statistics of the renters and stated that they were good <br />home body type people.,* Carlyle Towers includes hand ball courts, <br />recreation rooms, indoor SZd1.mF111Zb pools, health club, sauna and <br />meeting rooms.
