Mayor <br />Leech pr_esideda <br />The Pledge of Allegiance -to the F1.ag was givenm . <br />Roll Calle Present: Mciyor Leech, Messrs. Barclay, Ben.nett, ,• Bordonara, and Schulte <br />Absente M_rs. NegreZZi and Mr. Pr_aget n <br />Also present were Messrs e Byrr.es, Hovancselc, Amendola, Chief Hejcl9i <br />and Mrs. Maynard who suUsfituted for absent Clerk-Treasurer Relic.H <br />The Mayor opened the meeting by asking for comments from the floor: <br />Richard Schanfa.rber, 6719 Sandalwood; He read a letter received <br />from David Burke re the commercial development on the corner of <br />Sandalwood and S.OeM. Along with this letter was a petition from <br />the Kenwood Estates homeowners requesting the Village to ask Mr. <br />Van Curen to erect a brick wall around his development. The Mayor <br />received said petition and said he would also forward a copy of same <br />to the Architectural Board. <br />Dr. Scarso, 741 Butternut: He asked "what happened". He said <br />the Village was involved in lawsuits the outcome of which was favorable to the homeowners and then he received a letter from the <br />Mayor stating the matter was completely xesolved. He said he felt <br />the administrati.on was not representing the residents in the town. <br />Mayor Leech stated he was sorry to hear Dr. Scarso thought he was <br />not representing the residentss He said there were three lawsuits <br />and only one was tried favorably to the Vill age. The other two <br />were still to be tried at great taxpzyer expense. He added the <br />lawsuit we won in the Court of Appeals was in the Supreme Court <br />regarding the 40 x 90 section and its outcome was uncertain. There <br />was little we could do about the zoning of that property. The <br />se-Ftlement terms give us some control over the.leasees and the <br />facade layout and site pl.an of the buildinq. If the residents want <br />a wall we probably could do. Counci.l ful.ly supported the settle- <br />mento <br />Dr_.
